Five awards deep, and we still get a little giddy opening the email.
Our Slideaway Sofa Bed has just picked up the 2026 Singapore Good Design Award, better known as the SG Mark, one of the most respected design honours in Asia, and one more reason we're convinced this sofa bed might be the hardest-working piece we've ever made.
The SG Mark isn't handed out lightly. Since 2013, it's been run by the Design Business Chamber Singapore alongside the team behind Japan's own Good Design Award, and it exists to recognise design that genuinely improves how people live, not just how things look on a shelf. This year's theme, fittingly, was "The World is Your Oyster", design that seizes an opportunity most people didn't know existed. Which is a pretty accurate way to describe a piece of furniture that decided it didn't need to choose between being a sofa and being a bed.
A proud history of recognition
The Slideaway Sofa Bed has quietly built up an impressive shelf of accolades over the years. In 2023, it received the Gold Good Design Award, one of Australia's most respected design honours. The following year, it won the Red Dot Award, recognised internationally for functionality and design excellence. In 2026 alone, it picked up the iF Design Award and a ProductReview.com.au Award, voted on by real customers living with it every day. And now, the Singapore Good Design Award joins the collection.
Why it won
The judging panel recognised the Slideaway Sofa Bed for redefining the sofa bed as a primary furniture piece, rather than a compromise. Its trademarked sliding slatted base removes the need for the bulky metal mechanisms found in most sofa beds, delivering a smooth transformation between sofa, daybed, and double bed, along with everyday comfort that holds up whichever mode it's in.
The judges also called out the practical details that make it easy to live with day to day: tool-free assembly, washable covers, and sustainable material choices, all wrapped into a piece designed for modern, compact living.
More than a trophy shelf
What matters most to us isn't the award itself, it's what it represents. Every recognition, from Good Design to Red Dot to iF Design to now SG Mark, comes back to the same idea: thoughtful design should hold up to real life, not just look good on a shelf. The Slideaway Sofa Bed was built to be lived on, slept on, and slid between modes thousands of times over, and it's genuinely exciting to have that effort recognised on an international stage.
