Care Instructions

Our fabric is hardwearing and easy to clean, a simple vacuuming to remove dust and dirt on a regular basis will help keep it looking clean. If a more thorough clean is needed, simply unzip the covers and remove the inserts to wash the covers. Wash your covers at a maximum of 30 degrees celsius and do not tumble dry. Full washing instructions can be found on the cover care label.

Steer clear from any harsh cleaning products and wipe up spills quickly with an absorbent cloth or paper towel.

As with any piece of furniture, extended exposure in direct sunlight may cause discolouration to the fabric and the timber over time.

Meet the Re/Treat Sofa

In celebration of Earth Day 2024

Inspired by our award-winning Slideaway Sofa Bed, we built a world-first upcycled sofa with our friends from Casetify. Using 16,000 phone cases, we shredded, melted, assembled and tiled it altogether.

The Re/Treat name is a playful reconstruction of "retreat" which denotes a place of relaxation and comfort whilst also entertaining the "re-treatment" referencing the taking of old materials and giving them a new purpose.

This experience mirrors both Eva and Casetify's commitment to sustainability and design, and combining the two brands together in an artistically curated experience.

Visit the Re/Treat Sofa in-person at the CASETiFY STUDiO in the Sydney Arcade until 31 April, 2024.

Finally a sofa bed that looks good

We have had our sofa bed for a little over a week now and couldn't be happier. Our first guest used it as a bed last night and gave it a thumbs up. My husband is tall, 6"5 and he enjoys lounging on the sofa. Getting the colour swatches sent to us helped us choose the right colour option to match our other decor. LOVE this sofa-bed. So versatile.

Our overall experience was seamless. The assembly was so fast that by the time I'd made my partner a cup of tea for him he had assembled everything and we just needed to put the covers on the cushions! The main thing I love about it is how versatile it is. We have it as a sofa generally, then I move it out to a day bed for when I'm wanting to work on it (I WFH) or lie in the sun with my dog and read a book. We also now have a place for family to stay when they visit and my partner and I have definitely been guilty of falling asleep on it when just having a relaxing lie down. We have it in marble white but also green for when we want some colour and both are great.

How will my sofa bed arrive?

Your sofabed will come in the following four boxes (dimensions are in mm):

  • Back and arms: 2040mm (l) x 860mm (w) x 230mm (h) - 31kg 
  • Base:  (1960mm (l) x 990mm (w) x 110mm (h) - 43kg
  • Cushions: 900mm (l) x 490mm x (w) x 490 (h) - 30kg
  • Covers: 560mm (l) x 340mm x 160mm (h) - 5kg

Please note, the covers will come separately to the pillow inserts, so you’ll need to put the covers on when the sofa bed arrives. To help with this, we have prepared an assembly instruction video.

How much weight can the Slideaway Sofa Bed withstand?

The Slideaway Sofa Bed has been designed to be lightweight but incredibly strong & durable.

Your sofa bed weighs approximately 105kg in total & can withstand up to 300kg in weight.

How long will my sofa bed cushions take to expand?

All of the cushions on your Slideaway Sofa Bed have been compressed. Once opened the cushions can take up to 48 hours to completely recover. We suggest plumping up the side and the back cushions by hand for a quicker recovery time.

What is the Slideaway Sofa Bed made of?

The Slideaway Sofa has a frame built from a combination of sustainably sourced solid American Ash timber and plywood with veneer to ensure it will be with you for years to come. All timber on the product is finished with a Natural Low VOC oil. 

The seat cushions are made from multilayered foams to achieve the optimal level of comfort and support, wrapped in a plush memory foam duvet wrap. The cushions are made from a mixture of recycled memory foam and polyester fibre. Loose cushions on the sofa bed are filled with recycled memory foam and fibre fill.

Our covers are made from a 100% polyester fabric which is durable yet soft and inviting.

    Slight staining from the ply base

    Great, but packaging has too much tape

    It's great! Looks good & quite comfortable as well. I just wish that as a B corp company that Eva would use less plastic tape in their cardboard box packaging - it's actually crazy how much there is!

    Also the pillows are by default a bit too plump/round and as a result they can roll out of position quite easily. This can be fixed by removing some of the fill, but I think design-wise it'd be better if the pillow cases had a more accentuated flat bottom (vs the current lack of one)

    A great multi-purpose Sofa Bed.

    Functionally & aesthetically, a beautiful piece of furniture. After some minor teething problems, the Sofa Bed has met all my expectations.

    I've used it as a bed whilst visitors have been staying with a beaut night's sleep each night.

    As a day sofa, it's very relaxing to settle into. 😊
