Sofa beds can be so many things. By day, they’re a place to nap on a warm afternoon. By night, they’re a comfortable bed for post-dinner party guests, slow Sundays, or living rooms that moonlight as bedrooms.

They have many names: couch bed, fold out couch, or pull out sofa bed, but the idea is the same. Sofa beds are built to switch from sitting to sleeping in seconds. Combining the comfort of a couch with the support of a mattress.

Are sofa beds easy to convert from a sofa to a bed?

They should be, but many are not. Some sofa beds require heavy lifting or cushions that never quite sit right again. That’s why we designed the Slideaway Sofa Bed to move differently. In sofa mode, it offers supportive cushioning and generous space to stretch out. Extended into daybed mode, it becomes the perfect place to press pause. Move the back cushions to set it up as a sofa bed, and it transforms into a double bed with support from edge to edge.

What sizes do Eva sofa beds come in?

The Slideaway Sofa Bed comes in the one size. But it doesn’t stay the same, depending on how you use it, the size changes.

In sofa mode, it’s a comfortable 3 seater sofa bed. Fully extend it into daybed mode, and you have extra space to stretch out. Move the back cushions and it becomes a double bed, ready for a good night’s sleep.

What are the dimensions of the sofa beds?

In sofa mode, the Slideaway Sofa Bed measures 188 cm wide and 111 cm deep, with 57 cm of room to lounge comfortably.

Fully extended as a sofa bed or daybed, the depth reaches 153 cm, with 117 cm of sleeping space, giving you plenty of space for naps or a full night’s rest.

How will my sofa bed arrive?

Your sofabed will come in the following four boxes (dimensions are in mm):

Back and arms: 2040mm (l) x 860mm (w) x 230mm (h) - 31kg
Base: (1960mm (l) x 990mm (w) x 110mm (h) - 43kg
Cushions: 900mm (l) x 490mm x (w) x 490 (h) - 30kg
Covers: 560mm (l) x 340mm x 160mm (h) - 5kg

Please note, the covers will come separately to the pillow inserts, so you’ll need to put the covers on when the sofa bed arrives. To help with this, we have prepared an assembly instruction video.

How much weight can the Slideaway Sofa Bed withstand?

The Slideaway Sofa Bed has been designed to be lightweight but incredibly strong & durable.

Your sofa bed weighs approximately 105kg in total & can withstand up to 300kg in weight.

How long will my sofa bed cushions take to expand?

All of the cushions on your Slideaway Sofa Bed have been compressed. Once opened the cushions can take up to 48 hours to completely recover. We suggest plumping up the side and the back cushions by hand for a quicker recovery time.

What is the Slideaway Sofa Bed made of?

The Slideaway Sofa has a frame built from a combination of sustainably sourced solid American Ash timber and plywood with veneer to ensure it will be with you for years to come. All timber on the product is finished with a Natural Low VOC oil.

The seat cushions are made from multilayered foams to achieve the optimal level of comfort and support, and are wrapped in a plush memory foam duvet wrap. The back and side cushions are made from a mixture of recycled memory foam and polyester fibre.

Our covers are made from a 100% polyester fabric which is durable yet soft and inviting.

Frame: A combination of solid American Ash timber and plywood with American Ash veneer.
Finish: Natural low VOC oil
Main fabric: 100% polyester
Seat/base cushion foam: Multilayer polyurethane foam with a recycled memory foam and polyester fibre duvet wrap
Cushion fill: Recycled memory foam and polyester fibre

Love it, super comfy
I've had the sofa for about a month now and am using it as main lounge room sofa. Really comfortable. I had a little issue with one bolt not fitting, the support was great and someone came out to replace the faulty part. This fault didn't stop me enjoying the sofa in the short term but the Eva team though it might be an issue longer term, so got it sorted! Photo doesn't really do it justice :)

Appreciate the simplicity in design, however beyond that there are some shortcomings.
The person sleeping on the inside (towards the sofa backrest) has difficulty in getting off as they have to slide forward, place their legs over the arms and hop off and the joint (zipper) between the two mattresses is extremely uncomfortable to sleep over an extended period.
Ideally the bed should have been designed with the ability to sleep the way one is seated on the sofa.

Looks great!
Originally I was tossing up between Eva Slideaway and another competing brand. My focus was more on plush comfort but after waiting a month the other brand wasn't able to deliver and I couldn't wait another month. Since this was my close second, I decided to order and they delivered it the next day.
And I was so surprised! It comes in 4 boxes and used QR code for video instructions. I did it myself as I was impatient but highly recommend having help as it makes putting in the bolts so much easier.
Like other reviews say, its firm. I currently have it permanently in day bed mode with a thin foam topper under a doona for some added comfort. Its perfect now!
My friend has the other brand sofa bed and I much prefer how mine is off the ground. Its also stylish and great for movie nights. Only draw back is that the wooden arms are very long. So if a tall person tries to sleep on it in bed mode, they will need to sleep diagonally or right on the edge. Otherwise, no regrets!
