Jem of Dosse Studio, is known to bring calm and functionality in the spaces she styles with her neutral palette and clean sense of style.

“It’s all about being mindful of the materials you choose. I often opt for durable, easy-to-clean fabrics and finishes that can withstand daily life.”

Tell us about your background in design and style?

I’ve always been drawn to creating spaces that feel both functional and beautiful.
My background in interior design began with a passion for transforming homes into comfortable and stunning environments, and it grew into a full-fledged career when
I realised I could help others curate their spaces with a similar vision. I believe in merging aesthetics with practicality, ensuring that every space I design brings joy and ease to everyday living.

Where did you get your first break?

My first break came when I started collaborating with builders and architects on residential properties. Working closely with them allowed me to hone my skills in everything from material sourcing to colour selections. Dosse Studio instagram.com/dosse_studio focuses on everything from styling to larger-scale design projects.

What are your favourite features of the DELVE?

I love how the DELVE bed frame embraces versatility with its changeable covers.
It gives you the freedom to update your bedroom’s style effortlessly, without needing a whole new bed! The fact that it’s easy to wash and has storage access doors adds to its practical appeal, making it a fantastic choice for anyone looking to balance aesthetics and functionality.

Neutrals and minimalism are themes that run through
your style. How do you adapt to other styles when working with clients?

While I gravitate toward neutrals and minimalism, I always listen closely to my clients’ needs and tastes. Every project is different, and the challenge of adapting to various styles is something I truly enjoy. Whether it’s bold colours, eclectic patterns, or a more traditional aesthetic, my focus is on blending their personal style with a timeless design approach.

Keeping those neutrals clean, how do you do it!?

It’s all about being mindful of the materials you choose. I often opt for durable, easy-to-clean fabrics and finishes that can withstand daily life. Regular care and the use of washable covers, like those on the DELVE, make it easy to maintain a fresh, clean look even in high-traffic areas.

Talk to us about what you look for when styling for your home?

When styling, I focus on selecting pieces that resonate with my lifestyle. I like to mix organic textures with clean lines and create a space that feels calming yet sophisticated. Functionality is just as important as style, so I always aim for balance.

Any thoughts on the circular economy and shopping local?

I’m a big advocate of shopping local and supporting sustainable practices.
The circular economy is an important shift in how we think about consumption, especially in design. Reusing, recycling, and choosing timeless pieces help reduce waste and promote sustainability.

What does it mean to you to be associated with a b-corp?

Being associated with a b-corp aligns with my values of sustainability and ethical practices. It’s empowering to know that we’re part of a community that prioritises environmental responsibility and social good.

What are you reading/watching at the moment?

I’m currently reading The Comfort Book by Matt Haig—it's a lovely reminder to slow down and enjoy the small things. As for watching, I’m catching up on The Bear—it’s such an intense yet rewarding series!

What scent do you lean to in your home?

I gravitate toward fresh, clean scents like eucalyptus and linen.
They create an atmosphere that feels both refreshing and calming.

What are you cooking for dinner tonight?

Tonight, I’m making a simple but delicious pasta dish with fresh tomatoes, basil, and burrata. I love cooking meals that are fresh, wholesome, and bring a little bit of indulgence to the everyday.
